Public bug reported: When resuming from suspending a laptop with the lid in Xfce, the screen stays dark after logging in with light-locker or during the login with xfce4-screensaver. The only way to get back to a desktop is to use a tty to restart the display manager.
After some more testing, I found that this is a problem with the way UPower is incorporated into the program. This can be fixed by adding the option "--disable-upower-glib" to the ./configure script. This fixes issue in Arch/Manjaro, where this option is implemented in the PKGBUILD. I've reported this upstream, but with the state XFCE is in as a project I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon.
