If enough people ask for it perhaps they will re-instate it.
I find a max recents of 30 to be incredibly powerful in my work. Not
every gedit user is a programmer or sysadmin.

of their way to build it into the GUI, especially with the GNOME trend of

specifically about max-recents in dconf, rather than about the
functionality.
