The fact is that: 1) the system touches the device (sr0) when the user does not
touch the device (at boot and constantly while the system is running),
2) these calls from the first paragraph cause errors.
We want to 1) fix these errors, 2) remove unnecessary calls to the sd0 device.

I think this is a symptom of a bug which cause we don't know and need to
find out.
