** Description changed:
My Xubuntu 20.10 installation has no sound (Dummy Output) unless I
reinstall pulseaudio after every reboot.
pulseaudio does survive a suspend. Just a hard reset or power cycle
causes it to fail.
How I re-install pulseaudio:
sudo apt-get install
Since every model of laptop has slightly different audio hardware, and
slightly different problems, we should open a separate bug for each
model. This bug is about the Asus ZenBook UX425IA.
For other machine types please open a new bug by running:
ubuntu-bug pulseaudio

I lost audio as well and have to reinstall pulseaudio everytime I boot the
computer to get it back-- otherwise you have Dummy Output only. Everything
worked fine until I updated this batch (from /var/log/apt/history.log):
Upgrade: netplan.io:amd64 (0.100-0ubuntu4~20.04.2,
I also has this issue of losing audio and having to reinstall pulseaudio
to get it back to work. The latest pulseaudio update
(1:13.99.2-1ubuntu2) did not seem to solve the issue.
