Thank you for your bug report. The issue was reported against the wrong
package so didn't collect the right debug information, it has been
reassigned now so could you do
$ apport-collect 1902768
to include the audio debugging?
** Package changed: ubiquity (Ubuntu) => pulseaudio (Ubuntu)

It turns out that you can get the system to fix itself by running
"pulseaudio --kill".

As of today this issue has been fixed and sound works as expected.
Probably due to a kernel update?
