Public bug reported: I'm having a problem in Ubuntu Hirsute Hippo (development branch) VERSION_ID="21.04" with the Pre-Release updates (hirsute-proposed) turned on.
Since the updates that came out about 11/20/2020 that included some updates to compression stuff (I'm not saying those caused the problem), I have problems with the Mouse and Keyboard input stalling/pausing/freezing after there is no mouse or keyboard activity for a few seconds. Sometimes keystrokes will be lost, other times they are buffered and catch up. I've been putting in the available updates several times a day since the problem started, but nothing seems to help. I've also tried changing the video drivers back and forth between proprietary x.orXserver and Nvidia metapackage, but there's no change to the problem. Also if there's a video playing while the problem occurs the video is not affected, only the inputs. In researching fixes I thought there was a reference to turning off a feature that hides the mouse pointer when it's inactive, but I haven't been able to find that again. It does seem to coincide with the problem.
