This is fixed in 0.9 available from http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome-
terminator/ubuntu .
I did the following test:
gconftool-2 --type string --set
/apps/gnome-terminal/profiles/Default/use_theme_colors test
0.8.1 crashes with the error above but 0.9 doesn't.

I believe this has already been fixed in trunk, but I am curious what the value
of that gconf key is and why it's a string.
In the new code we will detect that it is a string and return it as such, but
the related code will still be expecting a boolean.
