The i386 architecture has not been removed entirely in the latest
versions of Ubuntu.
Cleaning should be possible.
Please note, Linux kernel 5.4 must be available for Ubuntu 18.04 i386
with Ubuntu LTS enablement (also called HWE or Hardware Enablement)
stacks.
