Public bug reported: Under Xubuntu 20.10, I checked for some updates launching update-manager with a terminal, and then switched to another software, leaving update- manager open.
When I wanted to close update-manager by clicking on OK, it hanged, so I was forced to close it by using ctrl-c on the terminal window. This is the traceback I got as soon as update-manager closed: ~$ update-manager WARNING:root:can not import unity GI Namespace Dbusmenu not available ^Clsb_release returned exitcode: -2 Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/update-manager", line 119, in <module> Gtk.main() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gi/overrides/Gtk.py", line 1649, in main return _Gtk_main(*args, **kwargs) File "/usr/lib/python3.8/contextlib.py", line 120, in __exit__ next(self.gen) File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gi/_ossighelper.py", line 237, in register_sigint_fallback signal.default_int_handler(signal.SIGINT, None) KeyboardInterrupt --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu50.5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: XFCE DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 DpkgHistoryLog.txt: Start-Date: 2021-04-02 12:12:08 Commandline: aptdaemon role='role-commit-packages' sender=':1.81' Upgrade: libopenexr25:amd64 (2.5.3-2, 2.5.3-2ubuntu0.2) End-Date: 2021-04-02 12:12:23 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-04-28 (341 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20200423) Package: update-manager 1:20.10.5 PackageArchitecture: all ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-49.55-generic 5.8.18 Tags: groovy third-party-packages Uname: Linux 5.8.0-49-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True mtime.conffile..etc.apport.crashdb.conf: 2020-10-23T13:57:01.282362 ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-collected groovy third-party-packages ** Tags added: apport-collected groovy third-party-packages ** Description changed: Under Xubuntu 20.10, I checked for some updates launching update-manager with a terminal, and then switched to another software, leaving update- manager open.
