Should upgrading all of the xserver-xorg* packages be sufficient? I
upgraded all of those plus the compiz ones to the latest versions in
hardy, but the crash still occurs. Changing back to New.
I have been unable to get the NVIDIA drivers to install properly in the
Hardy Heron LiveCD environment,
Nevermind, I got it. Did an apt-cache depends on compiz-core and
upgraded all the dependencies, then also upgraded libdecoration0 and
libxrender1, and now it no longer crashes. Changing back to Invalid.

You cannot use hardy's compiz packages on gutsy, they require a newer X
server.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could
test with it so we can work
Compiz relies on libx11-xcb being built with --with-xcb. Recompiling the
package with this removes the segfault.
I still have problems though, but this is likely to caused by the fact that I'm
mostly running 7.10..

Any idea why some of the apport info is missing? I can re-produce the
crash and re-run apport if you'd like, but I don't know how to submit
the info without creating a new bug.

Not sure, but this might be the same as bug 192460.
