Thanks for the confirmation, marking as fix-released then, you can check if
have the current version of the package by executing the following command:
dpkg -l python-central
maybe your system is really up-to-date or your mirror doesn't sync the
changes yet.

Yes. However, I get this: "Your system is up-to-date. It is unknown when

Today's upgrade seems to fix this issue for me at least, could anyone else
confirm this please?

* On upgrade, properly remove byte-code files not anymore in the
new version of the package.
