I downloaded the iso file again to a separate and new folder on my PC. I used this on another thumb drive to create installation media. The procedure progressed to completion without error. I'm not sure what was behind the problem I encountered but it wasn't software or my PC hardware as far as

Co-incidentally I had a failed install with Kubuntu2110 28062110 [this version]. After the fail I tried to run 'ubuntu-bug ubiquity' but got a message that my media was faulty. I will create another installation iso from fresh on a different thumb drive and report back here with any result.

I re-ran the install into the other partition and HAD NO ISSUES at all. Both installs booted & were as expected. It's highly probable that the KERNEL PANIC was a pre-existing condition on the box.. (I need to know how to get a dump of all my reports from iso.qa.ubuntu.com so I can search for my
