describe how to trigger it and attach your .xsession-errors to the bug?

same as above here on my toshiba satellite a50 laptop.
I have attached a screenshot, what g-s-d says when starting it from a
terminal and my confs.
I have an Intel 855GM graphics card.

UPDATE: Sorry to say, after this saturdays updates (03/08/2008) this bug
has resurfaced itself. When the laptop powered on after all the updates
were complete, this horrible error once again showed its ugly teeth.

Hi,
When this issue next hits you could you please open a terminal
and run
ps aux | grep settings
and see if gnome-settings-daemon is running. If not can you run
gnome-settings-daemon
and paste any output in to the bug report?
