Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dpkg

Hi,
I cannot install any software via dpkg nor aptitude. After dowloading the new
packages I get the error message:

Extracting templates from packages: 100%
dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 25525 package
`openoffice.org-common':
`Provides' field, syntax error after reference to package `openoffice.org'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
dpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 25525 package
`openoffice.org-common':
`Provides' field, syntax error after reference to package `openoffice.org'
Press return to continue.

I also cannot use dpkg -l and see some package info.
I run on Ubuntu 8.04 i386
