get things working. Would either of you mind opening a new bug report
regarding the specific issue of needing to reinstall to get things
running. It seems like a strange bug in itself and I'd prefer it have
some sort of visib
I have the same problem on my Samsung R65. The instructions from
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190414 did not help. I fixed the problem
by reinstalling the -generic kernel like Joe suggested:
"sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-image-2.6.24-12-generic linux-
restricted-modules-2.6.24-12-gene

Thanks for testing Joe. Sorry that the workaround mentioned there
didn't work :( Would it be possible for you to take a digital photo of
your screen when you see the errors at boot and attach it to this bug

"clocksource=acpi_pm", "highres=off" and updating BIOS had no effect.
however, i ran "sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-
image-2.6.24-8-generic linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-8-generic linux-

when you reinstalled it pulled in the updated 2.6.24-8.14? Regardless,
I'm glad to hear things are working now. I'm going to go ahead and
