Go's source does not provide a changelog, but the changes in 1.17 can be seen at https://golang.org/doc/go1.17 To test that this change will work, I have created a PPA with golang- defaults pointing to Go 1.17, and tested a rebuild of all packages listed in reverse-depends -b src:golang-defaults. I also tested the same package builds with Go 1.16.7.
