Just curious if you'd be able to disable the wireless controller in the
BIOS to see if it will at least then get through the entire boot
process.

I'm also having the same problem when trying the live CD , i tried the
alternate installation and get the same error also , tried to find a solution
on ubuntu forums but didn't get any answer from there , here is the link :
