are you using mobile broadband? i was using t-mobile broadband and had
to change my plan from web n walk to web n walk plus before it would
display properly, probably to do with ports being blocked

At the time the bug was noted I was not. I am still experiencing an
error
mine is doing tha same, says account is active, but no buddy list, and
all boxes are checked right, and it wont let me join any chat
