I tried to duplicate this with virt-install and received the message "ERROR:
Installs currently require 256 megs of RAM.
". I tried again in virt-manager, this time allocating 256mb or RAM (I'd used
128 before) and I did not receive the "virDomainCreateLinux() failed" error.

I receive this error when trying to create a linux 2.6 i386 guest on an
x86_64 host with kernel acceleration enabled; it works if kernel
acceleration is disabled. I am in the kvm group. virt-manager version is
0.5.3-0ubuntu7

I received a similar error trying to start a VM with kernel
acceleration. After a bit of investigation I discovered that it was
because /dev/kvm has root.kvm ownership and my user (neil) wasn't in the
kvm group. 'sudo adduser neil kvm' and log out/in fixed the problem for
me. Not sure if this is
