Using a clean install of Hardy Heron, I have tested this. It is still an issue but not exactly like in gutsy. nm-applet is still unaware of an IP address it did not request (since dhclient requested it). In Hardy instead of showing 0.0.0.0 in the Connection information window, the nmapplet menu
