Sounds like RealVNC is for Xorg only. Certainly to do any kind of screen sharing with Wayland requires that it is implemented by the shell itself. So this bug is unfixable/invalid. You can use a Xorg session instead, or consider using GNOME's built-in screen sharing in: Settings > Sharing **
