I don't consider it a bug either, but be aware that some other people out there may encounter the same problem. I could not simply remove the original mediatomb package, the only way I could remove it was to edit /var/lib/dpkg/info/mediatomb.prerm, remove the package then install the Ubuntu vers

Thanks for this bug report. I would currently not classify this as a bug. I believe this can easily be resolved by removing your non-ubuntu mediatomb package and then install the ubuntu package. sudo dpkg --remove mediatomb sudo apt-get install mediatomb If you agree I would like to close this
