Such as why things function the way they do. The advanced form of Physics may have some more advanced form of understanding of basic properties of the Universe, such as Consciousness. If it were, for example, discovered that Consciousness is actually the basic property of the Universe and that matter, energy, and forces such as gravity are emergent properties of that Consciousness, then we could be a step closer to a model that has similarities with religious understandings of God. Another idea might emerge from the discovery that the quantum fluctuations of the vacume are not merely random but interact intelligently and purposely with living beings.
