Public bug reported: On a new installation of Kubuntu 22.04, running Wayland, I am unable to launch the Additional Drivers tool. If I try to do so from either the KDE settings or command line I receive the following errors:
sudo kubuntu-driver-manager Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display :0 qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found. This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, vnc, wayland-egl, wayland, wayland-xcomposite-egl, wayland- xcomposite-glx, xcb. Re-installing with the following command has not helped: sudo apt install --reinstall kubuntu-settings-desktop ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: kubuntu-settings-desktop 1:22.04.10 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-33.34-generic 5.15.30 Uname: Linux 5.15.0-33-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.1 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Wed Jun 1 15:20:28 2022 InstallationDate: Installed on 2022-06-01 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 22.04 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Release amd64 (20220419) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: kubuntu-settings UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: kubuntu-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug jammy wayland-session ** Description changed: On a new installation of Kubuntu 22.04, running Wayland, I am unable to launch the Additional Drivers tool.
