Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I am also beginning to wonder whether the fact this machine has its UI
connected through a KVM switch is contributing to this problem. The
problem does seem to occur less if this is the only active machine. And
if I simultaneously (or within a few seconds) start this and a windows

I forgot - I should say I don't think it's a mounting problem - the disk
assigned to /dev/sda1 and to /dev/sdb1 swaps on each boot (presumably
before mounting happens).
