I can also confirm 1), and I've created an extension to work around it.
It asks your master password before the main window is shown, and blocks
loading firefox until it is entered. This way you only need to type the
password once, but you'll also need to type it if no password-protected
page is op
I can confirm the problem described as 1), and it is /really/ annoying
to me. I'm using Intrepid Beta with firefox version 3.0.3+nobinonly-
0ubuntu2.
