I think this is not a
Installation of software from outside the Ubuntu repositories is not
supported. It's fixed (worked around) in the current Hardy package, so
the bug status is correct. The real fix in an upgrade to pythont-qt4
that AFAIK hasn't been released yet.

Well, I've applied the current patch indeed and does work on newly Eric
version as well.

The exact same thing occurs when I try to run eric. Hardy amd64 version
updated daily
the console output is the same and eric crashes after saying it hasn't
been configured yet. The IDE is unusable right now
