I can confirm the bug, it's not fixed, at least, with latest snapshots
of the translations (Spanish) on the mirror.

I updated from "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-langpack/ubuntu hardy main"
(you forget ubuntu) and it was fixed for me.

For me, It happens every time a copy/move one file: in different
partitions, in the same partition and from a sftp source. All partitions
have an ext3 filesystem.

No, I have noticed that it only happens when I copy files that exist in
a reiserfs partition. when I copy files from ntfs / fat / ext3
partitions It displays the name correctly. It seems more like an
encoding problem
