this is because ubufox isn't installed. in consequence you try to
install flash through the package hosted by adobe, which uses bloody old
mechanisms that are not supported in ffox 3 anymore. so its not even a
firefox upstream bug. Most likely adobe will fix this at some point.

(apturl/flashplugin-nonfree install).

I just tried it and I couldn't install the plugin from Firefox 3.0 in
Hardy. However, I could install flashplugin-nonfree from command line,
and after restarting Firefox 3.0, I could use it Flash. In Gutsy, where
Firefox 3 is a secondary browser, it can't play flash, even if
flashplugin-nonfree is
I used to have this problem with Hardy, but when I just installed the
daily version of 14th of April, the problem was gone (I installed Adobe
Flash player).

funny thing is, that this file simply does not exist, at least on my
filesystem. there are several install.rdf files, but a sudo find / -name
install-siv* returned zero results.
