Ok, I tested this problem in Kubuntu 9.04 Alpha and here are the results
I started jockey without Internet connection and it didn't list anything.
Later I started it with a wired Internet connection available and it said it
was looking for drivers but it didnt find anything.
After that I got and

Which hardware is this (cf. lspci -nv)? Is the symptom reproducible in
9.04?
