Thanks, Hope you got my bug update saying when I updated GStreamer in
Gutsy the issue went away so clearly not related to Totem.

[RESOLVED] : I came across a web posting that suggested the GSTREAMER
package that comes with Ubuntu was not so good and that having the XINE
BACKEND was better. I selected this from the repository and the issue
above went away immediately. I can move back & forth without problems.

Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could
test with it so we can work
