I confirm the bug, it happens only on EMU0404 PCI cards.
It seems there is different card version.

Well, it works for me with intrepid.
I used usb-creator to create a live-system and just installed alsa-firmware.
(And rebooted)

Hey, this is not a bug.
You need the alsa-firmware -package, wich cant be included in ubuntu for legal
issues.
You can install it using the Medibuntu-Repository:
