yes same probleme here, on Karmic 9.10 2.6.31-20-generic, my keyboard always
change to QWERTY layout after reboot.
I saw on forum i had to change keyboad layout in xorg.conf but in don't find it.

just upgraded from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 Beta.
I restarted the computer. I get the log-in screen. I try typing my
password but it gets rejected. Then I try typing in the regular Qwerty
layout and it recognizes my typing.I am able to log-on. After logging
in, I can type in my Dvorak layout.

Hi Sebastien. Thank you for looking at my first bug report.
I'm not sure how you think this isn't a bug. When the ubuntu installer asks
me what keyboard I want, I choose French. Then when I boot up, it's using
US and there is no way to change it. I can't log in until I figure out what
