Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
On a Toshiba Tecra M9, with a Quadro NVS 130M video card, the nv driver is just shy of useless. Using either Gutsy or the Hardy Alpha 6 live cd, the nv driver recognizes the card but provides a resolution of 738x414 (rather than the native 1280x800). No amount of tinkering with any settings could get the nv driver to do anything else. The nvidia drivers, once installed, works perfectly (except for unrelated suspend/hibernate issues). As the computer in question does not need the additional features of the nvidia, I'd rather use nv, but that resolution is absurd. It was not even possible to install without resorting to the alternate CD, because the resolution was too low to be able to see the complete installer screens. This card is listed as supported by nv, but clearly something's not right. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- quadro nvs 130m not supported by nv driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202939 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
