I don't see the same behaviour with this notes.rc, odd (01, 02 and 03 are
there, but I don't have a new empty note).
I'll try to investigate but I think that the transition is working at least,
even if it can be improved.

I created 3 notes numbered 1, 2 and 3 with xfce4-notes-plugin 1.4 from
gutsy, then installed Gauvain's package.
Now I've my three notes showing up correctly, but they are numbered 01,
02 and 03 and an empty note numbered 1 was created.
The content of notes.rc.bak :
[settings]
pos_x=519
pos_y=378
I've a package ready that should handle the config transition:

the package. This is still a bug though.
