Orkun, I just tried your method and it worked pretty well!
However, I also found you can solve the firefox issue by disabling pango
for it. I need to test video now :P

I can only say that the old XAA method is known to have fullscreen/video
troubles. That should be the reason why it is being replaced
anyway(rumour?)
Try Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy" and EXA(just put it in where
you would have put the acceleration method) - and stick to EXA with

Orkun, are you able to watch movies with the intel driver and XAA? For
me (also 945GM) both vlc and totem crashes. VLC with the following

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! Great work Orkun!

Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
is also the key. that way i can also use exa and gonna stick to the intel
driver. i think there is a reason this is default.

EXA is causing the troubles. XAA with intel also works fine. i810 only
seems to support only XAA, that is way it works well. i810 feels
slightly faster than EXA - but only slightly.
now for the first time i notice that appearing windows are animated
within ubuntu :)

adding these lines i seem to find aiglx activated in my x log but the
same behaviour still consists. any ideas?
apart from that i tried "LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 INTEL_BATCH=1 compiz
--replace --indirect-rendering --sm-disable ccp &" as compiz-fusion.org
wiki suggests. no change either.

i found my gutsy xorg.conf backups. i attached the one which was running

i think the [EMAIL PROTECTED] stuff was caused by xrandr. i played

stopping gdm, moving xorg.conf and starting gdm does not work
unfortunately. log says default built-in configuration is being used and
touchpad scrolling does not work so i guess it used the standard config.
i will check compiz documentation for xorg options. but i do guess the
difference is being
Do you have an xorg.conf file? Can you try moving it out of the way
(move it to your home dir or something) and starting X without an
xorg.conf to see if that helps? It sounds like you're not picking up the
options in Xorg that are needed to make this work right.

Firefox 2 and Swiftfox(prescott version, probably(!) wrong) same
behaviour. As I installed Swiftfox I noticed everything that appears
around entering something into the address bar is smoother with
Swiftfox. I mean those new boxes(since v3) suggesting pages to go - they
seem to refresh more often.
