Public bug reported: First off, when I put in nm-applet in the "In what package did you find this bug?" field, even though it finds that package after a search, it says ""nm-applet" does not exist in Ubuntu. Please choose a different package. If you're unsure, please select "I don't know"", so I had to choose I don't know.
In Gutsy final, nm-applet 0.6.5, it picks up the IP automatically with DHCP. In Hardy beta 1, nm-applet 0.6.6, it fails to work. ifconfig just shows an ipv6 address but no ipv4. When the network tester is run, it says the network controllers were not found, so I'm assuming this is a driver issue. Gusty in the hardware info GUI thing says that my ethernet is: Vendor: nVidia Product: MCP55 Perhaps all the drivers aren't yet included in Hardy? Any additional information I can provide just let me know. Thank you. :) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] [nm-applet] Not pulling IP from DHCP server, possibly not recognizing NIC, works in Gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204825 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
