OK, I found a log file, but as i am writing this on a separate computer,
I don't have a copy of it that I can post. The only things that I found
that might be related follow:
*dhcp3-client
*dhcp3-common
*libhal1
*libavahi

I have the same problem and have tried the workaround. It didn't work. I
have an Intersil Prism2.5 card with updated firmware that supports WPA.
It was working fine until yesterday after some updates. I am trying to
find a list of what was updated yesterday, then I can find what caused
the problem
Does the workaround described in bug #197985 fix your wireless
connection?

Problem also occurs on Kubuntu 8.04 on a laptop. Using an Atheros based
PCMCIA wireless card.
