After more testing the above patch only partially fixes the problem - it
introduces some artifacts in moblin media v0.38. I don't have more time
to spend on the problem, maybe someone (Frank?) could fix up the patch?

I think moko doesn't draw widgets correctly. The GDK documentation + example
code for composited widgets indicates that a colormap needs to be applied to
the parent widget, and there needs to be a callback to draw the transparent
background on the parent widget:

Can you provide more explicit explanation of what the problem is? Error
messages, backtrace, or screenshots that illustrate the problem? I'm
not familiar with moko so don't have a clue on this just offhand.

Also, Pat says you had it working properly with an older version of X.
Please indicate what version of X that was, and attach an Xorg.0.log
from that as well, for comparison.

When I use moblin image, I did not find such issue.
it is likely caused by different xserver version in 2 images.
Frank, can you comment here?
