Public bug reported:

I tried two ways: boot up to live session and click install - it shows
only two ways to redistribute HDD than it was in previous versions. And
shows only sda1 nothing else. In gutsy gibbon i was able to choose
simply everything and keep my data safe. i mean i got list of possible
partitions and simply chose one for file system and created swap. in
8.04 Beta its not possible..

second way: to install from windows as "application.." i chose which
partition then how large i want. then filled in the username and
password, then it copied smthg and rebooted, chose ubuntu in windows
boot menu and started to boot. then it got stuck on error: there is no
partition for file system selected, choose it from partition manager.
but i couldnt make this off. I was clicking ok and it still appeared
again and again. eventually i tapped ctrl+alt+backspace and it started
desktop but still as live session user. looked in partition manager and
the only possibilty was one unalocated space 111GB which is my NTFS data
partition. nothing else.. so i uninstalled it from windows again..
