Public bug reported: Probably an issue with libc causes ls and tar to core dump when run, so don't know how I can get you files as requested.

Was running Ubuntu 23.10 fully updated before running 'do-release-upgrade -d'. I already finished successfully upgrading two other antique machines (AMD Athlon II desktop and Asus R500A laptop with Intel I7-3630QM processor.
