this report and I actually remember it. I have not seen behavior like
what was reported here in a long (very long) time (not since the
original bug report). I cannot get the update-manager to crash under

comment or a duplicate in this bug report and It is possible that the
bug has been fixed. May you please try to reproduce it with the latest
Stable Release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal and add the respective

Binary package hint: update-manager
Hardy Heron Beta, reported using the automated bug reporting system. I
did happen to enter the wrong password 3 times (cap lock). Once the
correct password was entered, update manager crashed.

This was something that just happened 'out of the blue'. I also
disabled compiz, and crashes have reduced to 'hardly any'.
