Public bug reported:

Just upgraded to the Hardy beta, and my Canon CanoScan LiDE 20 scanner
is reported not detected when trying to run xsane.

lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 04a9:220d Canon, Inc. CanoScan N670U/N676U/LiDE 20

sane-find-scanner:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9, product=0x220d, chip=LM983x?) at
libusb:001:005

scanimage -L:
No scanners were identified....

sudo scanimage -L:
device `plustek:libusb:001:005' is a Canon CanoScan N670U/N676U/LiDE20 flatbed
scanner

Running scanimage as root appears to operate the scanner, so I imagine
the problem is probably related to user permissions. My user is in the
scanner group, and I tried granting permission to my user through
policykit, but there is no change.

** Affects: sane-frontends (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
