pkgstripfiles does attempt to update the md5sums file syncrhronosly
after PNG optimization. I suspect that it may be failing because the
filenames contain [ and ], which interferes with some of the sed scripts
etc. used by pkgstripfiles.

I checked the entire 22.04 archive (jammy,jammy-security,jammy-
updates,jammy-backports x main,restricted,universe,multiverse) and found
2 similar issues:
1) python3-pydrive_1.3.1-0ubuntu2_all.deb's md5sums references some
test-related files that aren't packaged.
2) cm-super_0.3.4-17_all.deb has
