Public bug reported:
I have Firefox installed as a snap on Kubuntu 22.04 and have a custom
.desktop file under ~/.local/share/applications that looks like
https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/8r3nrtwGs3/. I have pinned the application
instance corresponding to the the taskbar. Clicking that causes the icon
to change briefly to indicate that it is loading, but nothing happens
after that and the application does not launch after that.
In the output of 'journalctl -f' when this happens, I see log lines like

But after that there is nothing indicating what the issue might be.
As a workaround, I have tried launching the application using the same
.desktop file with the command 'kioclient5 exec
~/.local/share/applications/canonical-firefox.desktop' and that works
okay every time without fail.
'snap run firefox <all the arguments from the custom .desktop file's
Exec line>' works too.
This has been happening ever since I installed Kubuntu 22.04 on this
computer on 14 Jan 2023.
