I'm experiencing the same problem here I think. I have an eeepc running

rendering problem (ie. transparent walls) that has been fixed.

After extensive testing me and another fellow came to the conclusion
that this is more like a global bug that affects a lot of games.
Probably it is related to the Intel driver for Ubuntu Linux v 8.04 -
