Ok I know what the problem is. Seems like Firefox 3 is using system
settings where I've set font hinting on. Try enabling it and you will
see the difference.

Yes i have installed both "firefox-gnome-support" and
"firefox-3.0-gnome-support".
This is not only about mainmenu font but also affects toolbar and context menu
fonts. Look closer and try to compary with firefox2. On firefox2 it looks nice.
I've attached another screenshot of ff2 and ff3 menus.
The menus that you posted look normal to me. What exactly should i be looking
for or at in the .png?
What version of firefox, ubuntu are you seeing this on? Do you have
firefox*--gnome-support package installed?
