Hardy Release 8.04 - last update 28-Mar-08

linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-12-generic:
  Installed: 2.6.24.11-12.31
  Candidate: 2.6.24.11-12.31
  Version table:
 *** 2.6.24.11-12.31 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/restricted Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Using lsmod I expected to see ath0 and wifi0 modules loaded as in 2.6.24-10 and
2.6.24-11. Also iwconfig should show the ath0 interface. In these earlier
kernels my wireless did *not* work but the modules loaded without error reports.

In 2.6.24-12 I found ath_pci, ath_hal, wlan, ath5k, mac80211 and cfg80211
loaded.

Using iwconfig I can only see lo and eth0; no sign of ath0.
In nm-applet no 'enable wireless' option, it was there before.
I have no wireless connection. No wireless device in nm-applet.

In summary wireless has changed, it still doesn't work, new modules have
appeared but the devices are less visible. Could be WIP?
