I see the spurious entries for Ubuntu 24.04, 24.10, 25.04 where
memtest... have suffix .efi but not for Ubuntu 22.04 where they have
suffix .elf

I don't know if this is related to the problem, but I see that Jammy's
os-prober doesn't see Ubuntu installs after version 24.04.
Below is the call to os-prober on Jammy and Plucky on the same PC.
The partitions with Ubuntu 24.10 and 25.04 and the one with Debian trixie/sid
are ignored by os-prob
No spurious entries for Debian where memtest86+ is NOT installed

On my laptop problem occurs for Ubuntu Noble installed on nvme disk partition 4
but not for Ubuntu Noble installed on SSD disk partition 1. Both systems
updated today. Attaching list from /boot directory of both systems:

But NO spurious entries for Debian
