I was using Kubuntu too... and now that I have switched to Gnome (as KDE
keep crashing on me), I get all the check boxes etc. Maybe Openoffice
is dependent on some Gnome lib or something?

What architecture are the two of you having this problem on? I get the
proper Paste Special dialog box pop up at least on i386 with hardy-
proposed 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu1.

I am using the last Kubuntu, regularly updated with OOo provided (2.4).
I join an exemple of the bug ...
- Selection of a few cells ( or only one)
- Ctrl-C
- selection of few cells elsewhere
- Shift Ctrl V
and I get the writer paste special dialog box.
If I select only one cell as the target,
I have exactly the same problem :
In calc : I select a cell wit ha formula , Ctrl-C , move to another
cell, request a Paste special and get the dialog box from Writer with
only the unformatted text option. I would except to have the Paste
special dialog box allowing me to choose to paste the

That will show me which packages you have installed which might help me

tried to copy one and then paste special it, or something else?

For me to reproduce it on my computer, I would launch openoffice calc,
then I press ctrl-C to copy (it should already be selecting cell A1),
then I press ctrl-shift-v (paste special), and I end up with a dialog
box without check box/radio buttons (see attached screenshot). There
